we're at the best buy community wellness fair in richfield.
short answer: on monday, august 25 we are one of the exhibiting vendors at the best buy n.e.w. fin community wellness fair, on the best buy corporate campus in richfield. the showcase runs 11am to 1pm in front of a crowd the organizers put at over 4,000 employees and visitors. it is a badge-access campus event, not a public one, so this post is less an invitation than an explanation: what we are putting on the table, and what it costs a company to put the same table in their own building. that last part is tandoco catering.
what the event is
the fair is run by the natural employee wellness fin (n.e.w. fin), one of best buy's employee groups, out of their corporate campus in richfield. the brief they sent vendors is a good one: connect employees with knowledge, resources and people that support their overall well-being.
the agenda is tight. setup at 10, showcase from 11am to 1pm, teardown at 1. two hours, one table, a few thousand people walking past on their lunch break.
we are there as a vendor, alongside a lot of other twin cities wellness organizations. worth saying plainly since the internet is bad at nuance: exhibiting at a company's wellness fair is not a partnership or an endorsement. we rented a table at a good event.
what we are bringing
both halves of what we do. the bakery, because it is the part nobody expects at a wellness table, and the meal prep, because it is the part that actually changes how somebody eats on a tuesday.
from the bakery, three rolls, one per dietary lane. swole rolls at 22g of protein, the item people do not believe until they eat one. (GF) cloud nine rolls, soft and pull-apart, fully plant-based and made without any of the nine major allergens in the recipe. no gluten, dairy, egg, soy or nuts. they are baked in a shared kitchen, so if you are celiac or managing a severe allergy, come ask us about cross-contact rather than taking a blog post's word for it. and cinnalite rolls, the sugar-free one, same soft crumb and warm spice at 140 calories a roll.
from the meal prep, three off the standing menu. lemon honey chicken at 52g of protein and 610 calories, chicken breast marinated in lemon, garlic and oregano with jasmine rice and broccoli. golden orange chicken at 50g and 670, crispy and tossed in a bright citrus, ginger and garlic sauce. and egg bites, silky and baked with canadian bacon and aged gruyère, 12g of protein a bite at 151 calories, no gums or stabilizers.
the rolls start the conversation. the meals are the answer to the question that follows, which is always some version of "okay, but what do you actually eat during the week."
every item on the table carries an allergen tag and a macro line. at a wellness fair that is not a nice touch, it is the price of entry. the room is full of people who read labels for sport, plus a meaningful number who have to.
why richfield is the right room
we already spend our saturdays a few minutes away. the richfield farmers market has been our home market all summer, and it is where most of the people who now order from us tried the food for the first time. more on that in the richfield farmers market.
so this is the same conversation in a different building. someone tries a cloud bite, looks at the label, and does the small piece of math that turns into an order. the only difference is that at the market they are in running shorts and at the fair they are between meetings.
if you are reading this and you are not badged into the campus, where to find us is the honest answer: the market on weekends, or the store for sunday delivery across the metro.
if your company is planning one of these
the reason we say yes to wellness fairs is that they are the front door to the thing we actually do, which is feeding companies on a regular basis.
if you sit on a wellness committee, run benefits, or organize the annual health fair for your office, the food table is usually the last thing assigned and the first thing people remember. we cater exactly that: employee wellness fairs, open-enrollment days, health screenings, team lunches, and recurring office drops, from 10 to 500 guests, anywhere within 25 miles of downtown minneapolis.
the full playbook for planning that table, including how much food to order for a walk-through crowd versus a seated one, is in how to feed a corporate wellness fair. the office-lunch version is corporate lunch catering that is not pizza. and if the event is a race or a studio instead of an office, that is post-race and fitness event catering.
lead times are 1 to 2 days for small orders, about 7 days for 50 to 200 guests, and about 14 days for 200 or more. request a quote on the catering page and it comes back within 2 business days. no contracts, no tasting fees.
