the short version: payment is collected upfront at checkout. you can cancel any order
before Thursday 11:59 PM CT of the week it was placed for a
full, automatic refund to your original card. after that cutoff the kitchen has bought ingredients and started cooking, so the order can't be cancelled and a refund isn't guaranteed.
catering and events run on their own timings — see section 3. weekly subscriptions bill every Thursday and can be skipped, paused, or cancelled anytime in your
account before that cutoff. if we can't complete your Sunday delivery (no answer at the door, address inaccessible, building entry refused), we can't refund or remake your order — the ingredients have already been used.
1. cancellations & refunds
you can cancel any order before Thursday 11:59 PM CT of the week it was placed and receive a full, automatic refund to your original payment method — no questions asked, straight from the cancel button in your account. after that cutoff, tandoco meals are made fresh to order using real, perishable ingredients that have already been purchased and prepped, so orders can no longer be cancelled instantly and refunds are not guaranteed. if something went wrong with your order, email support@tandoco.com and a real person will review it either way.
catering and events are different. they're booked for one date and cooked to a headcount, so they follow the timings in section 3 rather than the weekly cutoff above.
2. how to cancel
you may cancel your order at any time before Thursday at 11:59 PM CT of the week your order was placed for a full automatic refund. after that deadline, your order enters production and cannot be cancelled instantly.
- to cancel, use the cancel order button in your account portal — the refund is issued automatically to your original card (allow 3–5 business days to appear). you can also email support@tandoco.com / DM @tandoco before the cutoff.
- after the Thursday cutoff you can still submit a cancellation request from your account, but a refund isn't guaranteed once the kitchen has started — we'll review each one and email you either way.
- no partial cancellations — the entire order must be cancelled.
- catering and event orders don't use this cutoff — see section 3.
3. catering & events
catering and event orders work differently from weekly meal orders. we buy and prep for one specific date, headcount and menu, so the timings below replace the Thursday cutoff in sections 1 and 2 — that cutoff does not apply to catering.
your free-cancellation window depends on the size of the event, because a bigger job commits us to ordering and prep earlier. your quote and your event confirmation both state the exact date — that date is the one that counts.
- events under $1,000 — cancel free through the end of the day 5 days before your event.
- events of $1,000 or more — cancel free through the end of the day 7 days before your event.
- staffed or specialist events — where we're booking people, a tent, rentals or travel for you, we may agree a longer window (commonly 14 days) when we quote. if we do, it's written on your quote and your event confirmation, and that's the window that applies.
- cancel inside your window — we've already ordered and started prepping. we keep the deposit, or half the total if you paid in full, so how you chose to pay doesn't change this. anything beyond that we settle with you against what we've actually spent, and we'll show you what that came to.
- events aren't cancelled from the account portal. reply to your quote or email catering@tandoco.com and a real person will handle it with you.
- changes to headcount, menu or timing are usually fine — just ask, and the sooner the better. inside your window some changes may no longer be possible.
- most events are paid in full up front. on larger events we may agree a deposit instead: you pay part when you book and the balance is charged to the same card when your food is delivered or collected. we'll always say which one your quote is — the amount due now is on the quote itself and on the payment page.
- a deposit is refundable in full up to your cancellation date, and it isn't a booking fee — it's part of the price of your event, not an extra.
- if we have to cancel on you for any reason, you get everything back.
4. delivery policy
Delivery: all orders are delivered on Sunday morning across the Twin Cities metro. The delivery fee is based on driving distance from the Minneapolis kitchen (starting at $4) and is free on orders over $65; the checkout confirms coverage and the exact fee by address before you pay. To complete a delivery order you must provide:
- a complete street address inside our active delivery zone (the checkout will confirm coverage by ZIP);
- a working contact phone number — required, not optional. The driver uses this number to reach you at dropoff for hand-offs, building access, parking instructions, or any issue with the address. This is a fulfillment requirement and is separate from the SMS marketing opt-in checkbox (which remains voluntary; providing a contact phone to complete an order does not enroll you in marketing texts);
- any dropoff notes (gate codes, "leave on porch", apartment instructions) entered into the notes field at checkout.
If we are unable to reach you on the provided phone number and cannot complete the dropoff (no answer at the door, address inaccessible, building entry refused, etc.), the order will be returned to the kitchen and treated as a failed delivery: no refund, no remake. Keep the provided phone reachable on Sunday between roughly 3 pm – 9 pm CT.
Pickup orders also require a working contact phone number as a fulfillment requirement — we use it to send transactional order updates (an order confirmation, a "ready for pickup" message, and a pickup-day reminder). As with delivery, this is separate from the optional SMS marketing opt-in: providing a contact phone for pickup does not enroll you in marketing texts.
5. food safety & allergens
tandoco meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen that handles common allergens including but not limited to: wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, soy, and shellfish. while we take precautions, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
- if you have severe food allergies, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss your needs.
- all meals should be refrigerated promptly after delivery and consumed within the recommended timeframe.
- tandoco is not liable for any adverse reactions resulting from undisclosed allergies or improper food storage after delivery.
6. licensing & food safety
tandoco is a licensed food business. our food is produced in a leased commercial kitchen in Minneapolis, MN under a Minnesota Department of Agriculture food license, with additional Minnesota Department of Health and city licensure where required. our kitchen operates subject to state and local inspection.
- all products are prepared fresh to order using whole food ingredients in our licensed commercial kitchen.
- consumer fulfillment is by Sunday delivery across the Twin Cities metro — products cannot be shipped outside this area.
- for questions about our licensing or compliance, contact us at support@tandoco.com.
7. payment
payment is collected in full at the time of checkout. by placing an order, you agree to pay the full amount shown. your order is not confirmed until payment is successfully processed.
- all transactions are processed securely via Stripe.
- prices are subject to change week to week based on ingredient availability and menu offerings.
- refunds follow the cancellation policy in section 1: cancel before the Thursday 11:59 PM CT cutoff for a full automatic refund; after the cutoff, refunds are not guaranteed once ingredients have been purchased and production has begun.
8. subscriptions (weekly plans)
if you choose a weekly plan at checkout, you authorize tandoco to charge your saved payment method automatically each week for that week's order. the amount is shown at checkout before you confirm, and prices may change week to week with the menu (section 7).
- when you're charged: your card is charged each Thursday for that Sunday's order. your first charge is for the pickup or delivery date you selected at signup.
- skip, pause, or cancel anytime — for free — from your account portal, as long as you do it before the Thursday 11:59 PM CT cutoff for that week. changes made after the cutoff apply to the following week.
- cancelling a subscription stops all future charges. an order you've already been charged for still comes as planned — cancelling doesn't pull back an order that's already on its way. cancelling that already-paid order (for a refund) follows the same cutoff rules in section 1.
- if a renewal payment fails, we'll email you and give you a short window to update your card before the order is skipped; repeated failures pause or cancel the plan.
- closed-kitchen weeks (holidays / blackout dates) are skipped automatically with no charge, and your plan resumes the next open week.
9. order modifications
once a one-time order's payment is processed, its items are final — to change them, cancel before the Thursday cutoff (full refund, section 1) and re-order. subscription customers can edit items, swap meals, or add extras for an upcoming week from the account portal before that week's cutoff.
- if you have a concern about your order, email support@tandoco.com and we'll do our best to help.
