One central Minneapolis kitchen, halal-tagged items across the Twin Cities
The Twin Cities metro stretches across more than 50 cities and 180 neighborhoods. Serving the halal community well means being usable from Cedar-Riverside and Eagan with the same reliability — not carving the metro into "we deliver here, not there" zones that leave half the Muslim community driving an extra 25 minutes for weekly meals.
tandoco solves this with weekly pickup from a single, central Minneapolis kitchen. Halal-tagged items from the regular tandoco menu that take 15 minutes round-trip for most Muslim families, not 45. The zabihah sourcing, the recipe development, the community vetting — all of it happens in one place, which is also why the food quality stays consistent across every pickup window.

Bloomington →Serving the Twin Cities Muslim community
The Twin Cities is home to one of the largest Muslim populations in the United States, with strong Somali, East African, South Asian, and Arab communities across the metro. Major Muslim community hubs we're building this service for include:
- Cedar-Riverside / West Bank in Minneapolis — home to Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center and one of the densest Somali-American neighborhoods in the country
- Bloomington and the Mall of America corridor — Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center and a large Muslim residential population
- St. Paul — diverse Muslim communities across Highland Park, Midway, and the East Side
- Burnsville, Eagan, and Lakeville — growing Muslim families in the south metro
- University communities — U of M, Augsburg, St. Thomas, Macalester, and Metro State with active MSA chapters
Our halal-tagged items across the Twin Cities are designed with these communities in mind — flavor profiles, portion sizes, and menu cadence built for families, students, and professionals who want halal meal prep that respects both their dietary requirements and their time.
Why one kitchen, not six franchises
Meal prep services across the Twin Cities often expand by opening multiple kitchens or partnering with commissary operators. That's faster to scale but harder to verify — especially for halal, where the whole point is traceable sourcing and prep protocols you can stand behind.
tandoco's single Minneapolis kitchen keeps the halal supply chain short and auditable. Every zabihah protein lands at one receiving dock, goes through dedicated halal prep equipment, and leaves as labeled meals ready for weekly pickup. If a masjid leader wants to tour our Minneapolis kitchen before recommending tandoco to their congregation, there's one building to tour. That's the whole point.
Pickup + delivery plans
tandoco operates through weekly pickup from our Minneapolis kitchen — halal-tagged items and the full regular menu are picked up together. This keeps the food fresh (cooked the day before pickup) and the pricing accessible. Pickup windows are Monday and Tuesday.
Home delivery across the Twin Cities is in active development and will apply to both halal-tagged and regular items. We're building it carefully, with food quality guaranteed through the delivery window. Waitlist members will have the first delivery slots when it goes live.
